On Monday morning DJ Event Planner officially released Version 5.5 of the software. For this release 35 new features, updates, and tweaks were added.

]]> (NEW) Stored Documents - save documents for later recall

(NEW) POP3 Inbox - access your POP3 email account directly from DJEP

(NEW) Import Data - upload CSV/XLS files of Clients, Equipment, Venues, and Contacts.

Booking Helper - increased number of booking helpers to 50, new Next Action date settings, send email to specific email address, and assignment of planning forms.

Custom Reports - configure date filters based on current date (useful for weekly reports), user-friendly display names for field selector, and interface updated.

Trip Tracker - many updates including the ability to tie a trip to a specific event.

Other Changes:

Version 5.4: Minor Updates

We just returned from the Mobile Beat DJ Convention in Las Vegas and decided to update the software for our new users and everyone else. We added several settings and features that we though would be an intelligent choice to add to the dj software. The features that we added all resulted from posts on the wishlist section of the support forum. Here is a list of the updates:

My Account Page: there is now a link to have the Master Administrator username and password emailed to the master administrator email address.

New Trial Registrations: An employee is now added with Administrative employee permissions instead of a basic employee. Someone signing up for a trial account should (obviously) have administrator privileges in the DJEP acccount.

Favicon: Added compatibility for IE browser for favicon links for stand-alone domain holders.

Add/Edit Event Form: The discount link was removed and the fields now show on the form by default. This reverts back to the previous functionality due to popular request.

New Event Fields: Employee-specific start time, end time, and notes fields. There are also merge tags for these fields. If filled in, these values will appear in the employee portal.

Event Information Page: The employee confirmation fields were converted to images from checkboxes. This is meant to provide a more consistent interface when paired with the new employee specific times and notes.

Booking Helper: Added a new setting that allows you to changed the assigned salesperson.

Data Cleaner: You can delete multiple equipment entries at once.

Scheduled Email: There is now a setting so that you can have the scheduled email sent from the assigned salesperson or the master administrator account. Note: by default all scheduled emails are sent from the master administrator account. This will over-ride that setting if a) enabled b) the event has an assigned salesperson c) the assigned salesperson has a valid email address

Employee Configuration: There is now a setting for creating dropdown options for the following employee fields: Type Of Employment and Category. The setting can be found here: Setup -> Application -> Employee Settings -> Other

User Interface Updates: The following configuration pages were updated with expandable sections, enhanced dropdowns, and improved layout.. Edit: Planning Form Questions, Document template, Email template, Packages, Addons, Systems, Stand-Alone Equipment, and Employee.

Custom Reports: There is a new setting that allows your salespeople to access custom reports.

Website Tool for Employee Availability Checker: the system will now check to make sure the employee is active before proceeding. (The Wenning Effect)

What kinds of information should you follow up with? Mitch Taylor has been an avid advocate for DJ Event Planner ever since making the switch from a competing product over 3 years ago. Mitch is a member of WEDGuild and will also present Creative Consultations here at Mobile Beat Las Vegas Thursday morning at 10:00am.

* 12:00 pm - Day To Day DJEP (Dean Carlson) - This seminar will feature the everyday uses of the software for the sales process. Dean Carlson is the owner of Night Magic productions out of the St Paul Minnesota. His experience includes 23 years of DJing and running a multi-op company with over 25 DJs.

* 1:00 pm - Sell In Your Sleep (Justin and Anna-Jeannine Herman) - Using the custom email server to better track email communication, how to set up an email campaign, email templates, and scheduled automated emails.

* 2:00 pm - Keeping Your Finances In Order (Tony Hernandez) - With the help of DJEP you can keep your finances in order. Covering the payroll, expenses, and deposit features of the system, this seminar will cover the book-keeping side of things. Tony Hernandez is from South Florida and has major market radio, club, and mobile dj experience. He's mixed a variety of formats of music and has been the main Mixer and Street Team Promotion King with Power 96 for over 15 years.

* 10:00 am - Latest Trends In Search Engine Optimization (Andrew McCarron) Get the top native search engine results for Google and Bing. Andrew McCarron is a DJEP user from Brisbane, Australia where he has been rated the "Best Brisbane Based DJ Service" by the Australian Bridal Industry Academy.

* 2:30 pm - Introduction To DJEP (Troy Ackerman) This seminar is for anyone that wants to learn more about DJ Event Planner and is not a current user. We will cover the 3 key features of the software.

DJEP To Exhibit At The International DJ Expo

The International DJ Expo is "The World's Largest Gathering of Professional DJs" and will be held August 10th through the 13th, 2009 at the Taj Mahal Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. Thousands of DJs attend this convention and come to see the seminars, massive exhibit hall, and attend the night-time parties. DJ Event Planner is proud to be a part of the show for the second consecutive year. We will have a booth in the quiet section of the exhibit hall. To find our booth, go in to the exhibit hall and turn left. Keep going until you see our booth at the end of the aisle. Our booth number is Q20. Troy Ackerman, the developer of the software will be in on hand, ready to answer your sales questions. Joining him at the booth will be two knowledgeable users, Eric Wenning and Dawson Deyo. Eric is from Pittsburgh, PA where he runs a successful company that provides Disc Jockeys, Photography, Rentals, and Installs. He is also an instructor the nationally-accredited FAME DJ School. Dawson Deyo is a long-time user of DJEP and helps manage a busy multi-op DJ company in East Hanover, NJ. Dawson helped with sales at last year's Expo and the Mobile Beat convention in Las Vegas.
