Version 5.4 Is Released

Over the weekend DJ Event Planner was updated to Version 5.4. We added several settings and features that we though would be an intelligent choice to add to the dj software. The features that we added all resulted from posts on the wishlist section of the support forum.

DJEP Mobile Beat Convention Wrap-Up

Demo Room

Once again this year we had our own demo room at the Riviera Casino where the Mobile Beat DJ Convention was held. The demo room was much quieter than the main exhibit area and we had an opportunity to sit down and answer questions one-on-one. We talked to both current subscribers and those that were considering making the switch to DJEP from another service.

Sales Staff

We had four official DJEP salespeople at the show this year. James Mennes from Phoenix was our "Sharp Dressed Man" and helped out answering questions whenever possible. Eric Wenning from Pittsburg provided comic relief and was great at "Working The Room" as always. Brian Hines from Charlotte, NC returned to assist in DJEP sales again. Special congratulations to Brian, as he won the ADJA Peter Merry award this year. Great job Brian! Our newest DJEP salesperson is Drew Parham, Brian's manager of operations. Drew did a great job answering questions about the day-to-day uses of DJEP.

Seminars

DJ Event Planner presented 9 different seminars at the convention. These were all held in our demo room. Each of these seminars covered a different topic relating to DJEP and were given by actual users of the software.

We were able to record these presentations on a flip cam connected to lapel microphone. The audio came out great and the video is pretty basic. In the next few weeks we will be uploading the videos to YouTube and sharing the links with our DJEP users.

Special thanks go out to: Justin and Anna Jeannine Herman, Scott Christie, Andrew McCarron, Mitch Taylor, Dean Carlson, Tony Hernandez, Andrew McCarron, and Jason Spencer. They all did an excellent job with their seminars. We had many compliments from attendees about the quality of the presentations.

Exhibit Hall

The exhibit hall was re-organized a bit this year but seemed to be full of vendors. It is clear that Photobooths and Uplighting are extremely hot right now. Our understanding is that there were SIX photobooth vendors. The number of vendors selling or promoting uplighting was in the double digits.

Crossfader Show

DJ Event Planner just became one of the official sponsors of the Crossfader Show. This live streaming talk show was broadcast from the show floor and DJEP Developer Troy Ackerman had the pleasure of being interviewed by Jose Heredia, the show host. Jose was a talented interviewer and a really nice guy.

We just received word that a new product was introduced by Photodex. Photodex is one of the leading video montage creation software companies. Their primary products include ProShow Gold and ProShow Producer. The new product is a Web-based version of their ProShow software and is called "Pro Show Web". This version seems to be targeted towards the consumer or casual user. The interface well-designed and the results look great. The down side is that you have to upload your photos to their site instead of just selecting them from a folder on your desktop.

Happy Valentine's Day!

What?
One legend suggests that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. Emperor Claudius II decreed that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families. He outlawed marriage for young men, his crop of potential soldiers. Valentine, realizing the injustice of this order, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret.

When?
Some believe that Valentine's Day is celebrated in the middle of February to commemorate the anniversary of Valentine's death or burial — which probably occurred around 270 A.D.

Where?
In addition to the United States, Valentine's Day is celebrated in Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, France, and Australia.
Who?
Approximately 85 percent of all valentines are purchased by women.
